Inspirado no fragmento de Companhia (1979), de Samuel Beckett, este trabalho explora a materialidade do tempo e a impermanência da percepção. Beckett descreve com precisão a dança efêmera da sombra dos ponteiros de um relógio de pulso, capturando suas variações ao longo de um minuto. Aqui, esse movimento é transposto para quatro chapas de vidro, onde os intervalos da sombra são impressos em tinta translúcida.
As palavras, quase invisíveis, só se revelam na projeção de suas sombras sobre a parede, instaurando um jogo entre presença e ausência, visível e oculto. Como em Beckett, o tempo se manifesta não pelo que é sólido, mas pelo que escapa — na sombra, na espera, na iminência do desaparecimento. O público, ao se mover pelo espaço, testemunha a fragilidade do instante, percebendo que a leitura só se dá na oscilação entre luz e escuridão, como um reflexo da própria experiência da memória e da consciência.
Inspired by a fragment from "Company" (1979) by Samuel Beckett, this work explores the materiality of time and the impermanence of perception. Beckett precisely describes the fleeting dance of the shadow cast by the hands of a wristwatch, capturing their variations over the course of a minute. Here, this movement is transposed onto four glass plates, where the intervals of the shadow are printed in translucent ink.
The words, almost invisible, are only revealed through the projection of their shadows on the wall, creating a play between presence and absence, the visible and the hidden. As in Beckett’s work, time manifests not through what is solid, but through what escapes—through shadow, waiting, and the imminence of disappearance. As viewers move through the space, they witness the fragility of the moment, realizing that reading occurs only in the oscillation between light and darkness, mirroring the very experience of memory and consciousness.
